Visakhapatnam: Confirming reports on not shifting to Visakhapatnam during Dasara festival, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday said search is on for suitable premises for opening the CM’s Office (CMO).
He was speaking at the launching of new development center of IT major Infosys at Madhurawada IT Special Economic Zone here.
Reddy said he was also hoping to shift to Vizag this month but they have to consider so many things. He said he will be shifting in December.
Exuding confidence that Vizag has the potential for transforming into a big metropolis like Hyderabad and Bengaluru, he said several IT giants are showing interest to invest. The city already has a robust industrial ecosystem.
“The operation of Adani Data Center and development of an international airport will propel further development,” he said, reiterating the commitment to accelerate port-led development.
The Chief Minister said the entry of Infosys will change the IT landscape in the region. He said the city produces over 15,000 professionals every year from Indian Institute of Management, Indian Maritime University and several engineering and management institutions.
